Rednex is back with its first single in 18 months. It’s called Devil’s

Rednex is one of very few artists that have lasted on the charts for 15
years and sold more than 10 million records thanks to a dozen Top 10
hits û Cotton Eye Joe, Spirit Of The Hawk, Wish You Were Here etc.

We’ve been around so long that we have changed band 4 times, become the
artist with most total weeks (25) at No.1 on the German singles chart
in the past 30 years, had Backstreet Boys as support act and even lost
a Grammy award at the Schiphol Airport…

We are often labeled as the ugly duckling and the black sheep by the
artist community and music media for our unconventional methods and
appearances. Now we are doomed to once again headline the music news as
we have chosen to turn our back on the music industry and form a
partnership with its No.1 nemesis û The Pirate Bay.

We think that this is undoubtedly the future method of releasing music.
Within 12 years all the record companies will be extinct and the
copy-free system will rule, no matter what anyone tries to do about it.
It is inevitable and we are simply adapting to the coming reality.
We admire the file-sharing communities and the unrestricted spread of
information, as this will ultimately lead to great all-round benefits.

We see the record companies as dying phlegm-coughing dinosaurs that have
no function in the new system. However, we have absolutely no clue how
we are supposed to make money on this since we give away our songs for
free, but someone has got to take the first fumbling steps to find out
how it can be done and we believe that Rednex is perfect for any
ground-breaking try-outs. Whatever the turn-out, we are mighty proud to
be predecessors for artists in the digital generation and we will always
be with you!
